Your choice of pellon or commercial heat seal.
Pellon vs. Heat Seal
Pellon: pellon is a non-woven backing material which is used as stiffener and fused to the fabric. The fusing temperature is approx. 280 degrees. At that temperature, the fabric can become unattached from the face fabric is the patch is dried in a very hot dryer. Pellon also will need some ironing at times to look it’s best once on a garment that is washed often.
Heat Seal: heat seal is a polyurethane backing and can be heat sealed to most garments. It can also be sewn on just like any patch. Because the backing and face fabric are permanently bonded, this patch will not wrinkle or require ironing. Heat seal patches are a little bit floppy when you are working with them but that also means they are flexible when on a garment. If this patch is heat applied to a garment, it is applied with approx. 385 degrees of heat from a heat seal machine for 11 to 12 seconds. An iron will not make this patch stick to a garment.
Ovals: ovals can be any shape, very thin, very fat, etc. So to get the oval that you really want, you need to send a drawing to scale of your shape.
